The opening will take place on October 19, 2023 at 3 p.m. in the mansion in Markušovce and the adjacent park. The exhibition about Jews will be held on the ground floor of the Renaissance mansion in a room with furniture that once belonged to a wealthy Jewish family from Spišská Nová Ves.
The exhibition about Roma will be installed in the French park near the mansion. It will guide you through news about the first mentions of the Roma, their history in the middle ages, the modern age, and their tragic fates during the Second World War.
On the basis of collections, photos and documents, you will be able to learn something new about the history and culture of Jews and Roma from Markušovce and its surroundings.
